In February, the BSPA Board came together for an extended strategic planning session to reflect on our progress, review the evolving needs of our membership, and set clear priorities for the year ahead. It was an energising and collaborative day, grounded in our shared commitment to supporting our members across Australia.
The session’s explored current sector challenges, practitioner workforce pressures, and opportunities for BSPA to deepen its advocacy and professional resources. A key focus was ensuring our work remains aligned with evidence based, rights affirming practice and continues to support members to deliver high-quality Positive Behaviour Support.
Importantly, the day centred on strengthening governance processes, ensuring BSPA continues to grow sustainably and remains responsive to the needs of its members. This included mapping out clearer communication pathways, reviewing our policy development roadmap, and outlining goals for improved engagement and transparency across the association.
Several priority projects were advanced, including refinement of our upcoming webinar program, planning for improvements to the Member Hub user experience and the finalising of the BSPA Supervision Hub.
We look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months as this work progresses. Thank you to all members, volunteers, state leaders and ERG and PRP contributors whose expertise continues to shape BSPA’s direction and impact. Your insights and involvement ensure our work remains relevant, ethical, and firmly anchored in what matters most: supporting high-quality behaviour support for people with disability.
